Two Tenure-Track Positions in the Department of Astronomy, School of Physics, Peking University
The Department of Astronomy of Peking University invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions. We welcome applicants working on all fields in astronomy and astrophysics. The positions are at the tenure-track assistant professor level. In exceptional cases, a more senior starting position may be considered. Recruiting is conducted three times each year, and will continue until all positions are filled. The interview is conducted in January, April, or September/October, and the application deadline is normally one month before the on-site interview. The deadline of the next round of application is September 10, 2020.
Peking University is a leading university in China with complete disciplines in all natural and social sciences. The Department of Astronomy offers comprehensive academic programs for undergraduates and Ph.D. students (astro.pku.edu.cn). Together with Kavli Institute of Astronomy and Astrophysics (kiaa.pku.edu.cn), the department currently has about 21 faculty members with diverse research interests in the general areas of astronomy and astrophysics.
Qualifications
A Ph.D. degree in astronomy or related research disciplines; At least two years of postdoctoral research experience.
Benefits
Start-up research funding is available. The amount of funding is dependent on the applicant’s research plan.

Subject to availability, a 2-bedroom university apartment may be rented at a reduced rate. Subsidized housing purchase is likely in the near future.
